DTN COMMENTS: The country is slow to start this morning, some early asking
prices are around $117 to $118 in the South, and $185 to $188 in the North.
Bids remain scarce at this time. Significant trade volume will likely be
delayed until Thursday or later. Beef cutouts are expected to be higher,
with light to moderate box movement.
The Fed Cattle Exchange Auction reported a total of 1,393 head today (one
lot in TX, two lots in KS, and four lots in NE) asking prices ranged from
$114 to $117. One lot in Texas was offered $115, but that offer was passed.
One lot in Kansas was offered $115.50 but that offer was also passed. No
other offers were made.
